What we do

Here at Tilbury Transport Ltd we are committed to providing a high quality product distribution service from our prime location, operating from our storage facility Tilbury Cold Store, providing a seamless and efficient service from storage to distribution for our customers.

Modern fleet

Our modern fleet is made up of 4 tractor units as well as 3 rigid vehicles all fitted with tail lifts and dual temperature capacity for flexible deliveries. We operate 6 skeleton trailers for collection and deliveries of containers within Tilbury docks and London gateway. We work closely with Gray & Adams and Thermoking and operate 3 refrigerated trailers, providing an efficient and flexible service designed to accommodate both chilled and frozen consignments in the same vehicle. Currently delivering over 300 pallets a week, we provide next day delivery across many areas of London, and offer day one for day three delivery service across the rest of the UK. We also deliver into Ireland on a weekly basis.

Constant reinvestment

With constant reinvestment, Tilbury Transport takes full advantage of the latest developments in operating efficiency, reliability and economy. This not only benefits our customers but lessens our impact on the environment. All our vehicles are equipped with Ctrack monitoring units, allowing continuous contact and monitoring of location, along with estimated time of arrival. All our drivers are DCPC qualified and are trained at our own in house facility.

24/7

Our fleet operates 24/7, 365 days a year, operating from our ideal location at Tilbury docks, working in conjunction with our joint venture Tilbury Coldstore to provide a seamless frozen and chilled storage facility. We also work closely with our sister company Mostell Logistics (insert link for Mostell Logistics website), which operates from several locations nationwide including Ayrshire, Dumfriesshire, Lanarkshire and Lothian in Scotland, as well as a storage facility in Wigan northern England. This cooperation ensures we provide our customers with a first class service nationwide.

Fully Trained Team

Our team are our greatest asset, whether it’s our driving team, operation staff or maintenance, we pride ourselves on prioritising training and development to ensure we offer the best service possible. Drivers are all fully trained in-house on the operation of temperature controlled units, and all drivers understand the importance of adhering to customers’ site rules and regulations. Drivers are held full responsible for the care of POD’s while in their possession and documentation is collected at the earliest opportunity.

We enjoy creating long-lasting relationships and provide a consistent and high level of service to every customer. As members of the Road Haulage Association we trade to the RHA Conditions of Carriage 2009 and CMR. We also hold goods in transit insurance to meet and cover all the requirements of these conditions. Proud to be part of Browns Food Group, we carry out product distribution within the group for our many brands and products. We are dedicated to providing the same high level of service and attention to detail to our individual customers as we do with our internal group.
